breakbeat DJ events in Tokyo

MUSIC / GUIDE

Explore breakbeat events

Breakbeat events explore drum patterns that move away from an even four-to-the-floor pulse. Space inside the beat, its relationship to bass and changes at transitions are part of the appeal. Because the label covers a wide range, check the performers and neighbouring styles.

How to choose a session

• Use accompanying breaks, bass or electro descriptions to narrow the programme down.
• Try the DJs' mixes to get a feel for the pace and drum textures.
